Exchange Research School

Exchange Research School at Don Valley Academy is part of the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) Research Schools Network. We support schools, colleges and early years settings in our region to access, understand, and apply evidence, to improve the quality of teaching and learning, especially for children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Funded by the Education Endowment Foundation, Exchange Research School at Don Valley Academy is one of 33 Research Schools across the country. We advocate, communicate and mobilise the use of evidence to improve teaching and academic outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.

  • We encourage schools to make effective use of evidence-informed programmes and practices through regular communication and events.

  • We provide training and professional development for senior leaders and teachers on how to improve classroom practice based on the best available evidence.

  • We provide support through bespoke partnerships with groups of schools, Local Authorities, Multi-Academy Trusts, and other organisations.

I was honoured to be included in the initial conversations around the brand development for The Exchange Partnership (TEP) and was at the forefront of contributing to the successful launch, from developing initial conceptual logo ideas, typefaces, colour themes and brand guidelines. Through close collaboration with partners and members of TEP, I ensured that the final brand reflected the collective vision and values of the partnership.

I can honestly say I have found the NPQLT to be one of the most enjoyable CPD experiences I have had in my career, and certainly the most impactful. I use the skills and knowledge developed on the course every day, and will continue to do so for a long time to come!
